Context

Stable opened in 2018 as part of Cornerstone Stores, a new architecturally designed retail and lifestyle precinct just minutes from Currumbin beach on the southern Gold Coast. Designed with inspiration from café culture in cities like Melbourne and Tokyo, the building broke away from the typical coastal vernacular, setting the tone for what Stable aspired to be: a refined, modern café experience grounded in quality. The brief was to create a visual identity that reflected this elevated positioning — considered, minimal, and cosmopolitan — while still feeling connected to its coastal surroundings.

Approach

I developed a visual identity that blends modern restraint with gentle, organic elements, balancing refinement with warmth. A bold, confident logotype anchors the brand, complemented by a soft coastal palette and abstract forms inspired by ocean landscapes and the textures of the nearby shoreline.
The work spanned a full brand system and key outputs, including primary and tertiary logos, colour and typography, takeaway coffee cups, menus, window signage, and supporting assets for ongoing communication. Every touchpoint was considered to feel both elegant and relaxed, just like the café itself.
